Albox

The small town of Albox is located slightly inland near the towns of Antas and Huercal Overa.  The town is set in the mountain ranges of Sierra de las Estancias and the Sierra de los Fillabres.  Contributing to the town's heritage, several rivers and streams flow close to the town including the rivers of Almanzora and Albanchez. Surrounded by orange and olive groves you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Albox.  However, you are still close to the town where you will find all the facilities you need.  There are a variety of restaurants, bars and tapas bars.  Albox has it's own weekly market, supermarkets, English and Spanish speaking grocery shops, clothing shops and schools.  It has it's own Hospital and is also only 30 minutes away from the General Hospital in Huercal Overa.  If you are moving to Albox and you would like to learn or improve your Spanish, free Spanish lessons are given by Albox's Town Hall.

Albox is easily accessible on the main roads and from Albox there are easy access roads to the coast, to the beaches of Mojacar, Garrucha and Aguilas for example.  If you have an interest for Golf, there are Golf courses nearby including Valle Del Este and Desert Springs.

Albox is traditionally Spanish, a popular town, but is not swamped with tourists.

For those with a liking for peace and quiet with the convenience of small town facilities then Albox is the place for you!

The relaxed pace of life here lends itself to those seeking a little respite from the hustle of larger, more populated areas.

Many writers and painters have stayed in Albox over the years and found inspiration in the quiet natural environment. The sunsets are a dream with vivid colours constantly shifting until nightfall when you can fully appreciate the pollution free air as the stars keep you company through the night. Then with a symphony of colour comes the sunrise, starting the cycle for another perfect day in Albox.

To the right you will see the recently improved road into Albox. Good infrastructure is of prime importance to the Spanish and this is just one example of the care with which the Spanish are developing, with the help of monies from the European community to improve not only tourism and investment but also the lives of the local people and businesses.
