A large scale producer of fruit and vegetables fresh produce is in abundance here.
Every Spring the town becomes a centre for the International Theatre Festival commemorating the patron saints, drawing tourists, locals and famous artists from all corners of the world.
Despite the modernity of the town it is surrounded by history stretching back into pre-history with Neolithic, roman and bronze age settlements in evidence and artefacts are on display at the archaeological museum. |
